What to expect on the Cappadocia tour from Kemer
Day 1:
Set off for Cappadocia early in the morning
We pick you up from your hotel in Kemer early in the morning and set off for Cappadocia.
As most of the journey takes place before sunrise, you can rest on the bus. The familiar coastal scenery gradually gives way to mountain views and the open plains of central Turkey.
Take your first break overlooking the Taurus Mountains
After the first stretch of the journey, we stop at a restaurant overlooking the Taurus Mountains. You can stretch your legs and have tea or coffee before the sightseeing begins.
Breakfast is not included in the tour price. You can bring something with you or order food at the stop.
Descend into a Cappadocian underground city
One of our first major stops in Cappadocia is an underground city. Inside, the air grows cooler and the passageways narrower as ancient rooms, storerooms, corridors and shelters come into view.
Your guide will explain how Cappadocia's underground cities were built, why people sought refuge below ground and how entire communities once lived here. It is a vivid reminder that Cappadocia's history is every bit as remarkable as its valleys.
Visit a rock-cut church with ancient frescoes
Next, we visit a rock-cut church whose original frescoes have survived. Biblical scenes and images of saints can still be seen on its walls.
Your guide will explain why early Christians, monks and hermits made their homes among these rocks. Churches carved directly into the stone reveal another side of Cappadocia and bring its spiritual and historical heritage to life.
Enjoy local dishes in a welcoming restaurant
After visiting the underground city and rock-cut church, we stop at a restaurant serving local food. Lunch is not included and costs approximately $15 per person.
Uçhisar viewpoint, Pigeon Valley and Göreme viewpoint
After lunch, we explore some of Cappadocia's finest viewpoints. Uçhisar is one of the region's most distinctive landmarks: its towering rock fortress can be seen from afar, with sweeping views across the valleys and unusual rock formations.
Pigeon Valley is known for the dovecotes cut into its rocks. Göreme viewpoint looks out over the rock settlements and surrounding valleys. At these unhurried stops, you will have time to take photographs, enjoy a short walk and begin to appreciate the scale of Cappadocia.
Relax at the hotel after a full day
By early evening, we arrive at the hotel near Ürgüp. After checking in, you will have time to rest, freshen up and get ready for dinner.
The tour price includes one night at the deluxe Alp Hotel Cappadocia. If you prefer, you can stay at the World Cave House cave hotel for an additional charge. You will find details of both options further down the page.
Sunset in Red Valley or a Turkish Night
A buffet dinner is served at the hotel and is included in the tour price. Afterwards, you can relax at the hotel or join one of the optional evening activities.
The sunset trip to Red Valley costs $20 per person. As evening falls, the rocks take on warm colours and create a beautiful setting for photographs.
The Turkish Night show in Cappadocia costs $40 per person. The evening includes traditional music, dancing, dinner and drinks. It is an enjoyable way to experience Turkish culture and local traditions.
Both evening activities are entirely optional. You can ask your guide for details and book either one during the tour.
Day 2:
Watch the balloons at sunrise or fly over Cappadocia
The second day begins before sunrise, when Cappadocia's famous hot-air balloons appear above the valleys.
You can choose between two options. The first is a hot-air balloon flight lasting around one hour, with remarkable views over Cappadocia's valleys, ravines and rock formations.
The flight usually costs between €100 and €300, depending on the season. Your guide will confirm the exact price on the first day of the tour. Flights operate only when weather conditions are suitable.
The second option is a sunrise visit to a viewpoint, where you can watch the balloons take off and take photographs. This experience costs $30 per person.
Have breakfast at the hotel before the second part of the tour
After the sunrise experience, we return to the hotel.
Breakfast is included in the tour price. Afterwards, you collect your belongings, check out and continue exploring Cappadocia.
Love Valley and Imagination Valley
Before leaving Cappadocia, we visit two of the region's best-known valleys.
Love Valley is famous for its unusual rock pillars and wide open views. You will have time for a walk and photographs.
Next, we take you to Imagination Valley, also known as Devrent Valley. Its rocks resemble animals, birds and all kinds of figures shaped by nature itself.
Step inside a Cappadocian pottery workshop
Our next stop introduces you to one of the region's traditional crafts.
At the workshop, you can watch local artisans work at the potter's wheel and learn how Cappadocia's famous ceramics are made.
Visit an onyx workshop
We then visit a workshop where onyx and other natural stones are shaped and polished.
You can see how the pieces are made and, if you wish, buy a souvenir or a piece of jewellery.
Stop at an old caravanserai
On the return journey, we stop at a historic thirteenth-century caravanserai.
Merchants and travellers on the Silk Road once rested here. Today, you can explore the architecture of the period and take photographs.
Have lunch in Konya before returning to the coast
We then continue to Konya, where we stop for lunch.
Lunch is not included and costs approximately $15 per person.
After the break, we continue through the Taurus Mountains towards Kemer.
Return to your hotel
After two eventful days in Cappadocia, you return to Kemer with beautiful photographs and lasting memories of the region's best-known sights.
We usually arrive back at the hotels between 18:00 and 19:30. The exact time depends on your hotel's location, traffic and how the tour progresses.

Important information about optional services
During the tour, all optional services must be arranged through our guide and the organiser's approved partners. This includes hot-air balloon flights, the sunrise balloon viewing, the sunset trip to Red Valley, the Turkish Night show, lunches, photo and video services, private transfers and any other paid activities on the itinerary.
Optional services cannot be purchased from outside companies or private individuals during the tour. This rule allows us to maintain the group's schedule, insurance cover and the return transfer we have arranged. If a guest independently purchases a service outside the tour programme, this is considered a breach of the participation terms. In that case, the guest cannot continue with the tour and no return transfer will be provided.
We explain this clearly in advance to avoid misunderstandings during the tour. Most tour operators follow similar rules, although they do not always state them clearly on their websites. We want you to know the conditions before booking so that you can plan your trip with confidence.

Why does the tour start so early?
Cappadocia is approximately 600 km from Kemer. The journey takes around 8 hours on average, so departure is at night, usually between 02:00 and 03:00. This gives the group enough time to complete the first day's itinerary and reach the hotel by evening. Most of the journey is overnight, so you can rest or sleep on the bus until the first long stop.
Why is the Cappadocia tour from Kemer so affordable?
We keep the base price focused on the essentials. It includes transfers, the hotel, dinner on the first day, breakfast on the second day, insurance, a guide and admission to both the underground city and the rock-cut church. That is everything you need for a complete two-day itinerary covering Cappadocia's main sights.

How much does a hot-air balloon flight cost?
A hot-air balloon flight usually costs approximately €100–300 per person. The price varies according to the season, demand, weather and availability on the day, so the exact amount cannot be confirmed far in advance.
Before you book the flight, your guide will check the current price with our partner operator and let you know. The flight is entirely optional. Trying to find the “cheapest” company separately before your trip is unlikely to help, as prices only become clear closer to the date. Under the tour participation rules, flights with outside companies that are not part of the programme are not permitted. This applies to flights purchased both in advance and during the tour. A guest who breaches this condition may be removed from the tour.
What happens if the flight is cancelled because of the weather?
Balloon flights depend on the weather. Weather conditions are reviewed in advance, with final confirmation on the morning of the flight. If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you will receive a refund for the flight.
The tour itself continues as planned. We have breakfast, leave the hotel, visit the second-day stops and return to Kemer.
Can I see the balloons at sunrise without taking a flight?
Yes. You can choose to watch the balloons at sunrise, which costs $30 per person. We take you to a viewpoint with a clear view of the balloons rising into the dawn sky. It is a good option if you do not want to fly but would still like to experience Cappadocia at sunrise and take beautiful photographs.
Can I take a flight and visit the sunrise viewpoint?
No. You need to choose one option because the balloon flight and watching the balloons at sunrise take place at roughly the same time, around sunrise, and cannot be combined on the same morning.
From what age can children take a hot-air balloon flight?
Children are usually accepted from the age of 6, with a minimum height requirement of 120 cm. Rules can vary slightly between operators, so your guide will confirm the exact conditions before you book the flight during the tour.
Is the tour suitable for children?
Yes, the tour is suitable for children who are comfortable with long journeys. Hotel pick-up takes place at night, at around 02:00–03:00, and the journey each way lasts approximately 8 hours.
School-age children often enjoy the underground city, valleys, viewpoints and balloons. If you are travelling with a very young child, consider whether they will be comfortable on such a long trip. Children travelling free of charge do not receive a separate seat and must sit on an adult's lap. If you would like your child to have their own seat, book a paid child place.

What should I bring besides the usual travel essentials?
You must bring your passport because the hotel cannot register you without it. Comfortable closed-toe shoes, warm clothing for the mornings and evenings, water and cash for lunches and optional activities will also be useful. Cappadocia can be cool early and late in the day, even in summer. If you plan to take plenty of photographs with your phone, we recommend bringing a power bank.
