More About the Tour

• Our tour begins between 08:30 - 09:30 AM. We will pick you up at the security gate of your hotel and head to Green Canyon, a national park that includes Turkey's largest reservoir, Oymapinar, and the surrounding area. The Green Canyon is only 25 km from Side, but tourists from Antalya, Alanya, and Belek can also join. A short transfer along a scenic route is an undeniable advantage of this excursion.
• The first place you'll visit upon arriving at the national park is a viewpoint offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the reservoir, the surrounding mountains covered in green groves, and the dam itself, which stands 185 meters high and 460 meters long.
• After enjoying the beauty of the reserve and taking a few memorable photos, you'll head to the pier where a spacious two-deck yacht awaits you for a lake cruise.
• During the cruise on the Green Canyon, you'll have several stops. Use this time to swim in the cool turquoise waters of the lake or try fishing. Fishing rods and equipment are available on the yacht for those interested. Between stops, you'll enjoy a delicious lunch, included in the tour price.
• After the lake cruise, the yacht will return to the pier. You'll take your seats on the bus and start the return journey.
• The transfer will bring you back to your hotel between 16:00 - 17:00.

GREEN CANYON

• When we think of canyons, we usually imagine natural formations with majestic cliffs and rivers carving through them over centuries.
• However, the Green Canyon is fundamentally different – it is Turkey's largest man-made reservoir, created by the construction of a hydroelectric power station in 1984 in a valley between the Taurus Mountains. In ancient times, there were several lakes and the Manavgat River, which supplied freshwater to the ancient city of Side. After being dammed, they formed the Oymapinar reservoir, covering about 500 hectares with a maximum depth of 130 meters. Additionally, the reservoir is fed by 27 underground springs. The water temperature never rises above 12°C regardless of the season. The canyon is named for the abundance of greenery around and the rich green color of the lake, caused by the iron-rich water.
• Today, the Green Canyon is also a national park, attracting tourists from across the southern coast of the country. They come to escape the heat, enjoy the cool environment, and marvel at the emerald waters, mountain landscapes, and groves of pomegranates, citrus, and pine trees that fill the air with an unforgettable aroma.
