Tour Details

  • The tour begins between 09:00 - 10:00 AM. We will pick you up from your hotel's security gate and head to the Köprüçay River, which flows through Köprülü Canyon National Park. The river, fed by rain, snow, and underground waters, is a full-bodied source with a strong current, perfect for rafting in Turkey.
  • Upon arrival at Köprülü Canyon, you will head straight to the rafting center. Here, you can change into swimwear or spare clothes. Our instructor will conduct a safety briefing, provide helmets and life jackets, and divide your group into teams of 6-8 people, the ideal number for the inflatable rafts you'll use to navigate the river. Each team is led by an experienced captain-instructor who will guide you through the rafting experience.
  • After all preparations, you will head to the starting point near the ancient Roman Oluk Bridge. Built by the Romans in the 2nd century AD, the bridge is supported by the canyon's steep cliffs. It stands 27 meters high, 14 meters long, and 3.5 meters wide. Not only has it survived to this day, but it also remains functional and is a significant tourist attraction in Turkey.
  • The bridge is only 10-15 km from the rafting center, a short distance that you'll cover quickly in convertible buses or jeeps while enjoying the scenic nature of Köprülü Canyon.
  • Upon reaching the Oluk Bridge, you'll have free time for photos and exploration. Then, the most exciting and active part of the tour begins.
  • Your team will first lower the raft into the water, then, on the captain's command, take your place in the boat, grab a paddle, and start rafting. It promises to be a fun and engaging experience, as long as you follow the captain's instructions.
  • The water route is divided into segments. During the first stop, you can rest from paddling and try the zipline—a thrilling ride down a stretched cable. After that, you'll continue rafting down the river.
  • The finish point is near the rafting base, where you can shower and change into dry clothes. Then, enjoy a delicious and hearty lunch to regain your strength.
  • You'll also have some free time. You can swim in the cool mountain river, review photos and videos taken by the tour operator, and purchase them if you wish. Finally, you'll return to your hotel.
  • The transfer will take you back to your hotel between 18:30 and 19:30 PM.

About the Attractions

KÖPRÜLÜ CANYON

  • Tourists staying in Turkish resort cities like Antalya, Kemer, Alanya, Belek, and Side participate in rafting at Köprülü Canyon National Park near the village of Beşkonak in Manavgat, located 90 km from Antalya's center.
  • Köprülü Canyon National Park, established in 1973, covers an area of 366,140 hectares. The park is named after the canyon formed by the Köprüçay River between the villages of Beşkonak and Balasan. It is the largest canyon in the Turkish Republic, stretching 14 km long with walls reaching up to 100 meters in height, some parts of which are nearly impossible to climb.
  • The Köprüçay River, also known as Köprü, originates in the Taurus Mountains and flows through natural canyons, fed by underground waters, before emptying into the Mediterranean Sea south of the town of Serik. The river is 183 kilometers long and is a full-bodied source with a strong current, making it ideal for rafting and other water sports in both summer and winter.
  • It is worth noting that Köprülü Canyon National Park is one of Turkey's most beautiful natural recreational areas. It hosts the largest natural cypress forest in the entire Mediterranean region, covering 400 hectares. Its rich fauna includes 48 rare and endangered species. Of these, 44 species are endemic to the park, meaning they are found only here; 5 species are globally endangered; 4 species are nationally endangered; and 39 species are threatened in Europe.
  • In the park, you can observe mountain goats and black salamanders, and marvel at the Anatolian vulture and white-headed vulture soaring in the sky.
  • Many historical and archaeological monuments, such as castles, aqueducts, roads, and ancient bridges, have been preserved here. The most famous among tourists is the ancient Roman Oluk Bridge, connecting two parts of Köprülü Canyon. It serves as a symbolic entrance and landmark of the natural park.
  • To the west of the Köprüçay River, in the mountainous region, lie the ruins of the ancient city of Selge, founded in the 5th century BC. Only a few structures remain from the once-majestic city, including the ancient theater, agora, cisterns, aqueducts, and temples of Zeus and Artemis.

RAFTING

  • Rafting is considered one of the most accessible and safest extreme sports.
  • It involves navigating a mountain river on an inflatable raft, overcoming water obstacles, and passing through rapids.
  • Even those with no experience will feel an indescribable thrill, a rush of adrenaline, and a sense of accomplishment from managing the roaring, fast-flowing river almost on their own. All you need for success is to carefully listen to the safety briefing conducted by the instructor on land and follow all commands precisely while on the water.
  • All rafting routes in Turkey have a 2nd, sometimes 3rd level of difficulty, suitable for both beginners and advanced rafters. The total time spent on the water is about 2 hours. Active paddling is alternated with rest breaks on land.
  • The ideal time for rafting is from June to September, as even on the hottest days, the water temperature in the river remains between 10-12°C.

ZIPLINE

  • For those who love active and extreme recreation, ziplining is a real find.
What is ziplining? It is a slightly improved version of the classic rope swing, with the difference that the descent is made along a steel cable stretched over a gorge, with a special harness system to which the person is secured. The speed of descent depends on both the length of the cable and the weight of the person.
  • The zipline in Köprülü Canyon is completely safe, fully supervised by experienced instructors who will help you understand everything, provide a safety briefing, and explain how to behave during the flight.
  • The adrenaline rush and intense sensations from ziplining in Köprülü Canyon will stay with you for a long time.
